The Oakville Junior Fiddlers is a program designed for violin and fiddle students in the Oakville area between the ages of 8 and 16 to learn and perform traditional Celtic music from Scotland, Ireland, and Cape Breton, Nova Scotia.
Students work in an orchestra style setting while they play their music all together. The music itself is divided into separate parts for each level of student. This allows kids that have never played before to learn along with kids that have been playing for several years. Children with less experience will get parts that are more appropriate for their age and level.
Violin or fiddle students from Oakville, Burlington, Mississauga, Milton, or Georgetown Ontario are all welcome to join us. It's a bit of drive but well worth it.
